Into each life
a few drops
must fall impatient
upon window
or roof
O the tiny worlds
tucked inside
each sphere
imperfect
mixed geochemical
how predictable you are
first heavy then heavier
within the rainbands
and after
the unbearable beauty
of this fine soil
of this scented Earth
